How many calories you will burn daily if you stand upright more.

Perhaps your colleague, who has suggested the high office proposal, still has some good idea in the head.

A recent study, published in the European Journal of Preventive Cardiology, states that longer staying can prevent weight gain, which usually leads to prolonged sedation.

In the meta-analysis, the researchers looked at a total of 46 studies involving 1,184 people.

The women who were in a standing position burned 0.1 calories more per minute than the sitting ones. It does not sound like something that knows what, is it?

But the truth is that over time these calories accumulate: a person who weighs about 65 pounds and spends about 6 hours a day upright will burn about 54 calories more compared to a person preferring to work seated.

On the basis of annual calculations, the researchers indicate that this can be equated to about 2.5kg of fat.

And that does not sound bad anymore! Men burn 0.19 calories per minute if they do not sit, probably because they are mostly larger than women and have more muscle mass.

In the long run you may even lose weight

It seems as if standing is not a big deal, but as the authors point out, your body strengthens your muscles to keep you upright, while they need more energy to do so, and that is why more calories are burned.

In addition, previous studies have shown that stalling burns nine extra calories per hour than sitting (this is almost the same as the new study).

Researchers warn that one should not just rely on more sitting to deal with extra pounds.

It is not yet proven whether such a small difference in energy consumption will really become a long-term weight loss.

In the long run, you can just eat more to compensate for example, and so the difference may be insignificant.

The thing you have to do – sit for shorter periods. It’s so simple.

Today most people know that sitting around your computer all day long is the new cancer.

It slows down blood circulation, increases the risk of type 2 diabetes and impacts spine health.

And yes, even if you train earlier in the day, sitting in front of your computer is again harmful.

Studies have shown that standing can help in lowering blood sugar, triglycerides and blood pressure.
